Child Safe
Program

Safety is our highest priority

Children and young people are an important part of the Churches of Christ community, and supporting them to learn and grow is one of our greatest privileges.
We offer many safe spaces for children and young people to thrive, connect and belong - whether it’s at a church youth group, in out-of-home care, or swimming lessons at our aquatic centre.

Our Child Safe Strategy

We want all children and young people to feel and be safe when interacting with our services and communities. To make this happen, we’re rolling out a Child Safe Strategy that includes:

Child safe training

We’re rolling out training across our workforce and churches to build awareness, confidence and consistency in child safe practices- so everyone knows how to recognise risks and respond appropriately.

Family resources

We’re creating and sharing practical resources to help families build safety awareness at home and in the community, supporting conversations and actions that keep children and young people safe.

Listening to children and young people

We’re inviting children and young people to share their experiences and ideas, so we can learn directly from them and improve how we support their safety and wellbeing.

If you or someone else is in immediate danger - CALL 000

If you need help or want to report a concern

We’re committed to creating safe environments for children and young people, and we encourage anyone with concerns to speak up. Whether you’re a child, young person, parent, carer or community member, there are clear pathways for reporting harm or seeking support. The options below are here to help you take action, ask questions or get the support you need — safely and confidently.
