Safety is our highest priority

Children and young people are an important part of the Churches of Christ community and supporting them to learn and grow is one of our greatest privileges. We offer so many safe spaces for children and young people to have fun, connect and belong, whether it’s at a church youth group, an Early Learning Centre, in out of home care or swimming lessons at our aquatic centre.

We want children and young people to feel and be safe while they are interacting with any of our services or communities - that’s why we are implementing a Child Safe Strategy that will involve child safe training for our workforce and in our churches, sharing resources to support families to increase safety awareness and providing opportunities for children and young people to tell us what we can do better to keep them safe.

We want children and young people to feel and be safe when they are interacting with our services and communities. To make this happen, we encourage all children and young people - and the adults who care about them – to let us know if they have any concerns about their safety and wellbeing.

If you, or a child or young person you support doesn’t feel safe when interacting in any of our services, for any reason, it’s important that you speak up.

  • you or someone you know is in immediate danger - call triple 0 (000)
  • If you are not sure if it is an emergency but would like to speak with the Police, please call Police Link on 131 444.
  • Please report any harm or risk of harm to our safeguarding team via [email protected]
