Across Queensland today, there are thousands of children and young people who, for a variety of reasons, are unable to remain living with their own parents. Whether they have been victims of abuse, neglect or a tragic accident involving their parents, these children need safe and nurturing environments to help them find a path to a brighter future. This is often provided by everyday people, who are foster carers.
We need everyday people. You can have a family already or be single or married, different cultures and backgrounds, working full-time or retired. People from all walks of life that are willing to make a difference.
It can be for a few days, weeks or months, but it will make a difference to these kids for a lifetime.
You just need to be able to open your heart and your home to help a child grow up safe and connected to their community.
