Adventure Therapy with the Bornhoffen PCYC
Participants experienced trekking through creeks and rivers, hiking, rock climbing, and abseiling to help build connection and friendship with other young people in care.
Our Adventure Therapy Program helps our young people become inspired to learn self-awareness, build social skills and positively contribute to their community. Adventure Therapy is a form of experiential education with supporting research that reports positive outcomes in improving self-concept and self-esteem, help-seeking behaviour, increased mutual aid, pro-social behaviour and trust behaviour. It encompasses techniques and environments to promote change.
Many of the young people felt proud of themselves for completing and mastering many difficult terrains with the support of friends.
Churches of Christ believes in offering young people choices and opportunities to make their own future successful.
