Frequently asked questions

Do I need to be a Christian to volunteer with Churches of Christ?

No. Your religious beliefs do not limit your ability to work with us. We are more interested in your compassion and integrity. Of course you have to be able to work within our organisational values but if you have a desire to make a difference and the right skills we will welcome you as part of our team.

What training opportunities are available?

We provide training to all volunteers, including orientation, role and task specific training and annual refresher training. Other training opportunities may arise throughout the year.

How do I apply?

All our vacancies are posted on online. Applying is really easy, our online system will take you through the steps. You can even register interest in future roles and ask for alerts.

What age do I need to be?

Your age doesn’t matter. Our volunteers include people of all ages from young people and students to retirees and older people. We also have volunteers from different backgrounds and cultures.

I’m quite time poor, do I have to commit to a certain number of hours or regularity?

Whatever you are willing to give us, we and our wonderful clients will gratefully accept. A small part of your time, whenever you can spare it, will go a long, long way.

I’d like to do something, but I don’t know what I have to offer.

If you’re not sure how you might fit in, then just give us a call or come in for a chat. Everyone has something special to offer and we’ll help you find what that is.
