Little Mountain Residential Aged Care Service

A 96-bed residential aged care service contains six cottage-style buildings which incorporate dementia-friendly design principles and plenty of natural light.

Cottages are uniquely themed and designed to reflect a home-like environment.

Each cottage has 16 suites, with a private ensuite, and a variety of lounge, living and dining areas with ample access to outside spaces and courtyards.

The central living, lounge and dining space in each cottage has a kitchen and servery bench which will allow residents and family members to select breakfast options and prepare tea and coffee during the day.

The main lounge, living room and dining space in each cottage provides a number of smaller quiet areas for people to relax with family and friends.

A hair salon is located onsite along with a seniors’ gym focused on fitness rehabilitation and exercise with digitised equipment. Outdoor recreational spaces include a barbeque area and bocce court.

Our care approach

At Churches of Christ Care our care approach is based on our award-winning Positive Well-being framework and cottage model of care that promotes independence and provides residents with the opportunity to be involved in everyday lifestyle activities while receiving optimal care.

Building our community

Considering our neighbours

During construction our aim has been to minimise the impact on the local community, we have engaged closely with our neighbours and local schools.
We have commissioned an Acoustic Report and a Noise Management Plan for the Aquatic Centre which will outline the way we can ensure minimal impact for our neighbours when the campus is fully operational.

Sustainability emphasis

There has been an emphasis on sustainability throughout design and construction. Initiatives have included:

  • reducing energy demand through a solar photovoltaic system, an air conditioning heat exchange system and inbuilt switches to automatically turn off air conditioning when windows are open
  • recycling or reuse of all construction waste
  • establishment of a native ecosystem attracting native birds and animals.

Community engagement

A community advisory group will be established to foster ongoing engagement with the local community and ensure we are a welcome and valued contributor to the community at large.

Public and active transport options are available and encouraged through cycle parking, a bus stop outside the campus and pedestrian pathways.

Employment opportunities

As a large employer, we expect to create 100 professional opportunity for local nursing staff, personal carers and hospitality staff.

We have a variety of positions available. All current career opportunities can be found on our careers website {link}

Integrated community model

At Churches of Christ, our integrated community model is not a group of buildings in one location but a philosophy of holistic client care and service in a location where the broader community can benefit from the additional services and facilities available.

Integrated communities are informed by the needs of the local community and based on individual needs.

In a true community environment, all residents are welcome to join in campus activities and lifestyle programs. Residents can contribute to a vibrant community where people care for others and are cared for and valued themselves, and the broader community benefit from the services offered.

Our integrated community campuses aim to bring together the care, church community and support services to work collaboratively for the uplift of residents and the broader community.

Life at the Sunshine Coast

Are you looking for a seachange? Do you enjoy a coastal lifestyle and are excited by the prospect of joining a friendly, close-knit community, where hectic big city life will be less; and beach, nature, food and culture experiences will be plenty? If this sound like you, the Sunshine Coast is for you!

The Sunshine Coast is a beautiful place to live and has some of the best beaches in the world, without the big crowds. The region covers a large area from Caloundra to Noosa with easy access to the Sunshine Coast Hinterland with its breathtaking Glasshouse Mountains, scenic hiking trails and quirky café and art scene.

Located about 100 kilometres north of Brisbane the Sunshine Coast Council area has an estimated population of just over 300,000. The region undergoes economic transformation and offers a great combination of coastal and country life with the facilities and convenience of city living.

Our new integrated campus is currently being built in Little Mountain, 6 kilometres west of Caloundra CBD and just over 1 hour drive from Brisbane, though once you are there, you may never want to leave.

We want to make your relocation to the Sunshine Coast as smooth as possible. Whether you're looking for accommodation, want to open up a local bank account or require information regarding lifestyle activities, our Sunshine Coast information sheet has all of the infomation you'll require.
