Dear all residents
We hope that you and your loved ones are well. The impacts of ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred continue to affect Southeast Queensland in the form of power outages, flooding and property damage.
Strong winds and increased rainfall are expected to continue throughout the week, meaning there is potential for ongoing disruption and dangerous conditions.
Continue to check authoritative sources like Queensland Government warnings and Bureau of Meteorology for important information.

Power outages:
Widespread power outages in Southeast Queensland are affecting over 200,000 people. These outages are the result of damage to power grid infrastructure and therefore generally impact large clusters of streets if not whole suburbs.
We are continuing to monitor outages affecting our properties. Please do not contact Churches of Christ Housing Services to report power outages at this time.
Properties we manage, like others in Queensland, are being impacted by power outages. Electricity will be restored once Energex and Ergon are able to repair power grid infrastructure.
You should report new power outages directly to Energex or Ergon by calling 13 62 62. You can track the status of known power outages by viewing Energex’s outages finder or Ergon’s outages finder. Never approach downed powerlines – to report downed powerlines, call 13 19 62.
Flooding:
Flooding has already affected several communities and remains a strong possibility for the remainder of the week as a result of anticipated rainfall. We ask that you remain vigilant – flooding can happen quickly, even in areas that have not flooded before.
Households’ preparation last week prior to the arrival of Tropical Cyclone Alfred have put them in good stead to prepare for flooding, including:
Moving items out of flood-prone areas
Preparing an emergency kit
Finding and bookmarking your council disaster dashboard
Knowing your closest evacuation centre and how to get there, particularly if roads are closed due to floodwater
Historical flood information might help you determine which roads are likely to be impassable in the event of a flood. For current road closures, you should check QLD Traffic. Never attempt to drive or wade through floodwaters.
