Hope Needs a Home

When someone has somewhere to land, life begins to steady. And from there, everything else becomes possible—belonging, connection, and hope.

Every day, Churches of Christ QLD walks alongside people as they move toward stability. And “home” is not just a physical place. It’s a sense of stability, belonging, and support—something people can build from.

It’s what allows people to reconnect, rebuild confidence, and take the next step forward. Your End of Financial Year gift helps create spaces where people don’t just get by, but can move forward with dignity.

Samantha’s story

After escaping domestic and family violence, Samantha* and her three young children experienced homelessness, at times living in their car. With nowhere stable to land, even basic things like safety, routine and rest became difficult to maintain.

Through the Churches of Christ Housing Services team, Samantha and her children were supported during a critical time. The team provided emergency accommodation and walked alongside the family as they worked towards securing a safe, long‑term home—a place where stability could begin to return.

With the support of generous donors, the family also received food and essential items. This practical care helped ease immediate pressures and reminded Samantha and her children that they were not alone—that their community still cared and was standing with them.

For families like Samantha’s, Hope Needs a Home means more than shelter. It means safety, stability, and the support needed to restore hope—giving families the chance to begin again.
