Across Queensland, Churches of Christ walks alongside individuals and families as they move toward stability. We provide care, practical support, and connection—all grounded in dignity. Our focus is simple: creating environments where people can move forward, not just get by.

Sheila* lives alone in her own home and receives support through Churches of Christ Home Care Services Team. When her family relocated, the days grew quieter and the risk of isolation began to set in—a reality many ‘older Australians’ face as their worlds shrink. Noticing the change, the Churches of Christ team supported Sheila to take part in social outings that helped rebuild routine, connection and confidence. 

What began as a tentative first bus trip soon became a weekly anchor—a reason to get ready, get out, and be with others. Today, Sheila’s week once again includes conversation, laughter and a sense of belonging. Regular social connection has strengthened her emotional wellbeing, supported her independence, and restored stability to daily life.
