Service Availability During Tropical Cyclone Alfred

For emergency assistance during extreme weather events in a non-life-threatening situation, contact the SES on 132 500.
In a life-threatening situation or if you are injured, always call triple zero (000) first.
Current Queensland Government advice states that Tropical Cyclone Alfred is most likely to make landfall late Friday night (7 March) or over the weekend.
This advice can change quickly so we encourage you to regularly check authoritative sources for the most up-to-date information.
Churches of Christ Housing Services staff are not emergency responders and must also follow the direction of emergency services to shelter at home and avoid potentially dangerous travel.
If you need assistance over the weekend, please seek help from the appropriate emergency services agency.

If you have fled your home: after you have moved to a safe location like an evacuation centre, friend or family member’s property, please call us to advise us of your situation using the after-hours number (1800 446 604) or regular office phone number if during business hours (9:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday to Friday).
Please be advised that we are not able to provide alternative accommodation during this period of emergency. We will discuss ongoing accommodation options with affected residents after the period of emergency has passed.
During this extreme weather event, please report non-critical damage or maintenance items to us during regular business hours using our regular office phone numbers.
Service outages during the cyclone:
It is common for power and other services to be disrupted or unavailable during extreme weather events. We will monitor service outages that might be affecting our properties during this weather event.
Outages do not need to be reported to Churches of Christ Housing Services’ after-hours number.
When it is safe for their staff, service providers will begin work to restore connections.
If you notice downed powerlines, stay away. Call triple zero (000) if you are in danger or injured or Energex on 13 19 62 to report downed powerlines.
