Supported independent living

Helping you move toward independence

Our Supported Independent Living Service (SILS) program provides support for young people leaving foster care or residential care.

Available to 15 to 17-year-olds across Queensland, our SILS program provides a share house where you can live, usually with one or two others. You'll contribute to your rent and living expenses, and we'll cover the rest. We'll also provide you with 5 to 25 hours of mentoring from a youth worker each week.

They'll provide you with a range of advice and support to help you toward independence, including financial help, education, training and study support and help you continue to develop other life skills like cooking and budgeting.
