Community housing

Providing you with a safe and secure place to call home

If you've successfully applied for community housing (also known as social housing) through the Queensland Government, you may get an offer for one of our homes.

With more than 1100 properties across 10 local government areas in Queensland, we provide safe and secure homes to more than 2000 people each year.

From six-bedroom family houses to studio apartments, our community housing properties become homes for Queenslanders at risk of homelessness.

You'll be contacted by government if we have a home that suits your needs, you won't apply directly to us. All applications and property offers are handled through the Queensland Government.

Who's eligible for community housing

Types of community housing

Long-term housing

For low-income Queenslanders who need stable, secure and low-rent housing and are unable to access a home in the private rental market, where prices continually rise out of reach for many.

Short-term housing

Otherwise known as transitional housing or crisis accommodation, this includes properties we own or manage under different government programs such as the Community Rent Scheme.

Disability accommodation

We have purpose-built apartments for community housing residents who need specialist accessibility accommodation and support.

Seniors housing

We have specialist community housing apartments for over 55s - often located near our retirement villages and aged care homes, so you can join in with your local seniors community. Applications are still through government.
