Little Mountain Open Day

Little Mountain opens its doors to the public on Saturday 9 February, 2019 to celebrate the completion of its $32 MILLION development.

Churches of Christ in Queensland welcomes you and your family to discover Caloundra’s newest community hub and centre for residential aged care and in-home care at the Little Mountain Open Day.

Little Mountain Open Day is your chance to find out about life in Caloundra’s newest 96-bed aged care service, with the opportunity to tour the facility, state-of-the-art seniors gym, hair and beauty salon, and community and aquatic centre.

Tour

Designed as a dementia-friendly facility, each cottage contains 16 private bedrooms with ensuites, including a central open plan dining and living area. Wander through the central courtyard, the hub of activity, and tour the seniors gym equipped with the latest technology designed for rehabilitation, while you make your way to two open cottages on the West-wing.

Entertainment

The Open Day is an action packed day with entertainment for young and old. Keep up-to-date on the latest entertainers booked for this event!

  • Sunshine FM 104.9 live broadcast,
  • Music by Brad and Brodie,
  • Giant games,
  • Simon at Balloon Awesomeness, and
  • Suzy the Face Painter.

Activities

Immerse yourself in the celebrations and take part in complimentary activities brought to you by Churches of Christ in Queensland.

  • 15-minute health check

Our Churches of Christ Community Care, now located in Little Mountain will be providing complimentary 15-minute health checks. Available in private meeting rooms inside the community centre, have your weight, height, BMI, blood pressure, heart rate and temperature checked by our clinical and nursing staff. 

  • 5-minute hand and head massage

Delivering an unforgettable experience, Michelle and Paulene from Pamper Yourself, Hair and Beauty will be offering 5-minute hand and head massages from the on-site hair and beauty salon located in the Central Courtyard of the aged care service.

  • Positive gardening experience

Experience the therapeutic gift of gardening. You are invited to take home a seasonal herb or flower for your very own garden. Facilitated by Soil to Supper, this program will provide you with a deeper understanding of growing healthy food and enjoying a sustainable lifestyle from your very own garden.

  • Cooking demonstration

Our hospitality services team will be doing a cooking demonstration showcasing a variety of meals the residents enjoy on a daily basis... and guests will be able enjoy samples of the food. 

  • Virtual Dementia Tour™

Visit the stall to learn how this Virtual Dementia Tour allows us to place ourselves in the shoes of another, so we can meaningfully connect with those who experience dementia in order to make a positive difference in their lives.

Food

In Little Mountain, our aged care service lifestyle programs and meals are provided at no extra costs.

We would like to offer your family and friends complimentary food and refreshments while you take a tour of our new facility.

  • Sausage sizzle provided by Lake Currimundi-Kawana Lions Club,
  • Barista coffee from the Little Mountain Café,
  • Snow cones and popcorn from Snowy Joey,
  • Gelato provided by Dolce Ice Creamery,
  • Cold beverages available throughout the day.
