Aged Care Appreciation Day 2019

Today, Australians are being urged to reach out to people they know who work in aged care and help recognise the positive contribution they make to the lives of our older Australians and the wider community.

From the nurses and care workers, to the cooks and hospitality teams, to the drivers, cleaners and laundry employees, to the volunteers, to the leisure and lifestyle officers and administration teams – this day is to recognise the entire workforce.

At Churches of Christ in Queensland, we know first-hand the valuable contribution our seniors and supported living staff make in bringing uplift to people they care for and support.

For 85 years, we have been offering quality seniors’ living and providing services that are built on valuing seniors.

Our staff do a fantastic job everyday providing dignity, bringing uplift and unconditional love to those they serve. The stories from families resonate of their care and commitment. They share with us the compassion, commitment, kindness and how our staff truly care about what they do.

From us all at Churches of Christ in Queensland, we support you and highly value the contribution you make.

Aged Care Employee Day is an official day created by the team at an Australian Not-for-Profit aged care provider, Whiddon in 2018. This year, Leading Age Services Australia, the national peak body representing and supporting providers of aged care, home care and retirement living, have made Aged Care Employee Day a truly national event dedicated to celebrating the incredible contributions of all aged care employees around Australia.

To all aged care employees, we thank you and honour you on this Aged Care Employees Day. This day is for you, to celebrate the incredible work you do, and to show you just how much you make a difference to the lives of older people.
