Appointment of Chief Executive Officer

It is with great pleasure that Churches of Christ in Queensland announces the permanent appointment of Gary Edwards to the role of Chief Executive Officer of Churches of Christ in Queensland, effective 1 September 2018.

Gary has been in the role of Acting Chief Executive Officer of Churches of Christ in Queensland since July 2018. As well as Chair of our Board of Directors for the past 6 years, a member of our Council, and an active member of Whitehill Church of Christ, Gary also brings with him many years of personal and business understanding of both Churches of Christ in Queensland as a whole, and the breadth of care services that are currently offered throughout our organisation.  Gary has had previous experience within the business, community and Government sectors, and has personally contributed too many high level Boards.

As a result of Gary’s permanent appointment to Chief Executive Officer, he will now stand down as Chair of the Board and Mr Ken Ewald will take up his new position of Chair of the Board, also effective 1 September 2018.

Ken Ewald re-joined Churches of Christ in Queensland Board of Directors in 2014, after having served for some 18 months in 2009/2010, and has been an active member of our Finance & Infrastructure Committee since that time.  Mr Ewald has many years’ experience as a senior executive within the financial planning and risk advisory sectors, along with owning a farming enterprise, and is actively involved in several Charitable Boards. Mr Ewald brings with him, not only sound business experience, but a heart and passion for our Church movement and the people we care for day to day.

Churches of Christ in Queensland is delighted to have Gary Edwards and Ken Ewald continue to bring exceptional leadership to the organisation in their respective new roles.
