Step-by-step guide

Why fundraise for us?

We are a faith-driven not-for-profit dedicated to helping the vulnerable and disadvantaged, including people experiencing homelessness and the elderly.

Some of our programs sit outside government funding requirements and rely on the generosity of others to be possible. This includes providing much-needed medical care via our purpose-built Medical Santo clinic in Vanuatu, some of our Gold Coast homelessness services and other initiatives designed to help alleviate people's pain and suffering.

Ways you can fundraise

Create your own event, organise a workplace fundraiser or nominate us as your charity partner for another event.

Event ideas:

  • Morning tea (gold coin donation)
  • Trivia night
  • Golf day
  • Create your own challenge - a run, walk, or any daily or monthly challenge.
  • Work lunch
  • Bridge to Brisbane
  • Cycling event

Steps to take to fundraise

Step 1: Contact us

We'd love to hear about your fundraising idea. We'll provide you with a short Authority to Fundraise form, which you'll need to fill out. We'll also provide you with information about how to bank your funds. Email us at  [email protected] or call us on 1800 600 900

Step 2: Create your online fundraising page

If you're creating your own event, create your own online fundraising page. You can use a website that allows you to do this for free, such as My Cause or GoFundMe. Add Churches of Christ as your charity. If you're doing an event like Bridge to Brisbane, you'll use their online fundraising platform and nominate us as your charity.

Step 3: Promote your fundraiser

Share links to your fundraiser via your social media, email and with your friends and family. Bigger and quirky fundraisers might also interest your local news outlets. Google your local radio and press, and contact them to see if they'd do a story and include how people can donate to you.

Step 4: Hold your fundraiser

Keep your donors across your progress as you hold your event or work through your challenge. Tag us on Facebook.

Thank your supporters and let them know if you've achieved your target. Bank your funds with us with the information we provided in Step 1.
