Our CEO Gary Edwards said thank you to the Crows Nest community and Warwick Aged Care Service on 12 December for their support when more than 100 residents were evacuated.

Mr Edwards commended the Queensland Ambulance Service and Stonestreets Coaches for working past midnight transporting residents to Warwick and Toowoomba; St Vincent’s Private Hospital Toowoomba, Infinite Aged Care and the Allan Cunningham Motel for welcoming residents with open arms; the heroic Queensland Fire and Emergency Services and families and staff who rallied together to ensure everyone was cared for and supported.

“The task at hand was met with absolute dedication and effort by all involved,” Mr Edwards said. “We had people from Toowoomba, Warwick and our office in Brisbane who dropped everything to come together to provide safe transport and suitable accommodation. The strength and resilience shown by the Southern Downs community during a time of great need and uncertainty shows us what true community spirit is, and we will forever be grateful,” Mr Edwards said.
