Networking Magazine October/November 2015

Our annual celebreate weekend during 20-21 November is quickly approaching. Inside Networking you will find information about the weekend, which includes Centrifuge, the Annual General Meeting and Awards Dinner, with details about each event and how you can be a part of it. We look forward to taking this time to share and celebrate with you.

In this edition Chief Executive Officer Dean Phelan talks about the launch of two important documents for our organisation: the Strategic Plan 2015-18 and the Reconciliation Action Plan 2015-2017. He also discusses the historic gathering of Queensland church leaders, which we hosted at our Mitchelton Campus in August. The meeting was an opportunity to deliberate the issues affecting Christian churches today and the issues that we need to take action on in our society.

In his third instalment of an examination into our historical foundations, Dean looks at communion within our church, which today is an inclusive and welcoming rite.

Also in this edition of Networking you will read about how some of our services celebrated Seniors Week, anniversary celebrations across our churches and care services, our award winning dementia church service, how HumeRidge Church of Christ is helping to connect a remote area of Papua New Guinea, and the story of Larry and Sue and how they cemented their commitment to each other and their church.

I hope you enjoy this edition of Networking as much as we are encouraged by the wonderful stories we hear in the production of the publication. Please send your articles, story ideas, photos and events to communications@cofcqld.com.au.
