The theme of this edition is innovation. Churches of Christ in Queensland is not afraid to look at different and better ways of doing things and to find new ways of bringing the light of Christ into communities. There a number of articles about how we have used innovative tactics to bring uplift to people’s lives, protect our environment and reach out to new communities.
In July Chief Executive Officer Dean Phelan will have his final day with the organisation. We held an informal event for him at our Head Office in May, which you can read about on page 6. We look forward to recognising Dean and his achievements at a more formal event in November. Further details about this event will be released shortly.
The Board announced the appointment of Dr Paul Scully to the position of Chief Executive Officer of Churches of Christ Queensland effective from Monday 17 July. We look forward to introducing Dr Scully in the next edition of Networking.
Our Community Chaplains are on the forefronts, providing care and support to the people who need it most. In good times and bad, they are there to listen, comfort and empower. I encourage you to donate to our
End of Financial Year campaign and give the gift of a community chaplain. Donations can be made at giftachaplain.com.au or 1800 600 900.
It is almost time once again to place your nominations for the CEO Excellence in Service Awards. Nominations will be open from 17 July – 25 August 2017 at cofc.com.au/nominate. Take the time to think about who lives out our values in their work or personal life and deserves recognition.
