Services

Our early childhood education and care services enable parents and carers to work, study and take part in community life knowing their child is in a safe and creative environment, where they are being well cared for and supported by qualified educators who understand their child's learning and development needs.

We deliver educational and care programs that are based on the approved learning frameworks and are influenced by the child’s interests, cultural background and knowledge.

Children are provided with flexible indoor and outdoor programs, which allow them to have choice of experiences and access to a variety of resources. This enhances their sense of identity, allows them to contribute to their world, and develops a sense of wellbeing.

The children in our programs become involved learners and are encouraged to communicate their thoughts, ideas and feelings.

Early childhood centre

Our early childhood centre provides all-day or part-time child care for children aged six weeks to five years.

The centre is not just a building with a playground. It provides creative and stimulating environments where experiences are based on the approved learning frameworks.

This service is available at:

*The Australian Government provides financial support for these child care services under the Long Day Care Professional Development Programme.

Kindergarten at a centre

Our Cunnamulla Early Childhood Centre operates an approved kindergarten program, which provides creative and stimulating experiences based on the approved learning framework for kindergarten-aged children.

The centre is also able to offer care outside of the scheduled kindergarten program hours. This extended care provides consistency in their friendship group and security in the environment your children are already familiar with.

If a family meets the criteria, QKFS Plus Kindy Support subsidies can be provided directly to services to reduce out-of-pocket expenses for eligible families.

Stand alone kindergarten

Stand alone kindergartens provide care for children who turn four by July 31 in the year of care.

The service operates 40 weeks of the year and is based on state school terms. Children attend specified hours and days.

Our central governing body is Lady Gowrie Queensland and they have a strong involvement in the program.

Kindergarten teachers provide creative and stimulating experiences based on the approved learning framework for kindergarten aged children.

Family day care

Family day care is a home-based education and care service offered within a family environment at an approved educator’s home.

Our educators look after up to four children under school age and three school-aged children. They are assessed for their suitability, with an intensive screening process conducted on the educator, their family and their home.

Family day care provides creative and stimulating experiences based on the approved learning framework for children aged zero to twelve.

How to access family day care

The Family Day Care office is your first contact point, where we will work to match your requirements with educators who have vacancies.

You are able to choose the educator who best suits your needs and the needs of your child. The final decision as to where your child will be placed is always up to you.

In-home care

In-home care provides care for children from birth to 16 years in their own home by approved educators. This enables children to experience stability and security in the familiarity of their family environment.

We provide professional, flexible child care in the family home, particularly in rural and remote areas, to families whose care needs cannot be met by mainstream services.

We provide a service where children are cared for in their own home by approved educators and hours are flexible to meet your needs (full time, part-time, overnight, shift work, casual care and outside school hours care).

Eligibility for in-home care

In-Home Care is a unique service type which offers education and care to families in their own home. However, families need to meet eligibility criteria to be able to access the service.
