Meridan

Meridan Campus

Our integrated community model brings together the care, church community and support services to work collaboratively for the uplift of on-campus residents and the broader community.

Our focus over the next few years is to develop a state of the art community hub and seniors living campus where the local community and people living on campus will have access to a range of services, facilities and social spaces.

The initial $32million investment will focus on establishing a community hub which will provide local community groups, residents and families an enhanced community lifestyle through the use of the campus’ café, multi-purpose community centre and social spaces for all to enjoy.

This integrated campus will provide new community focused facilities and activities as well as securing the future of Meridan and the Sunshine Coast as the prime location of choice for the provision of seniors residential and community care services.

First stage

Community hub

Landscaped to complement the Sunshine Coast area, the community hub will be available to local residents, community groups and on-campus residents to be part of the integrated community lifestyle. The hub will include for example:

  • a café
  • community centre
  • meeting spaces
  • landscaped gardens.

Aged care service

We are committed to ensuring quality aged care and seniors living apartments incorporating the latest innovations in design, care and community spaces are available to Sunshine Coast seniors.

The campus will include a 96 bed aged care service centre and future development will incorporate  retirement living homes designed so that residents can stay in their own home and access a range of care and support services.

Cottage model of care

We are committed to a ‘cottage’ model of care throughout our residential aged care service.  This cottage model has discrete areas that incorporate features to maintain the home-like environment with care and support at hand.

Each cottage will have 16 suites, each with private ensuite, a variety of lounge, living and dining areas and access to outside spaces and courtyards. Our cottage model promotes independence and provides residents with the opportunity to be involved in everyday lifestyle activities while receiving optimal care.
Cottages will be home-like, with a supporting internal physical environment to add familiarity to everyday life. A range of features will be provided for residents to enjoy, for example:

  • The central living, lounge and dining space in each cottage has a servery bench which will allow residents and family members to select breakfast options and prepare tea and coffee during the day.
  • The main lounge, living room and dining space in each cottage will provide a number of smaller quiet areas for people to relax with family and friends.
