Boonah

Boonah Campus

Our integrated community model brings together the care, church community and support services to work collaboratively for the uplift of on-campus residents and the broader community.

We are committed to ensuring Boonah and the Scenic Rim seniors’ care needs are met into the future.

We are investing $38million into our existing Fassifern aged care and retirement village facility which will secure the future of Boonah as a prime location of choice for the provision of seniors residential and community care options.

We are focusing on creating improved facilities, great spaces and enhanced quality services for residents and the community.

The development

  • a community hub including a café and meeting spaces
  • 96 bedroom residential aged care service
  • 38 independent living units
  • landscaped gardens and central courtyard
  • man-made lake and social spaces for all to enjoy

Community hub

The campus wide community hub will have a café and multi-purpose community centre for residents, friends and family will be part of an integrated community lifestyle.

New aged care facility

The new aged care facility will replace the existing nursing home which we have recognised has a number of limitations which restrict the ability to accommodation and meet growing needs. Once the new building is completed, the old facility will be demolished and the area will become green space.

Cottage model of care

We are committed to implementing a ‘cottage’ model of care throughout our residential aged care service.  This involves having discrete areas that incorporate features to maintain the home-like environment with care and support at hand.

Each cottage will have 16 rooms each with private ensuite, a variety of lounge, living and dining areas and access to outside spaces. Our cottage model provide residents with the opportunity to be involved in everyday lifestyle activities while receiving optimal care. Cottages will be home-like, with a supporting internal physical environment to add familiarity to everyday life.

  • The central living, lounge and dining space in each cottage has a servery bench which will allow residents and family members to select breakfast options and prepare tea and coffee during the day.
  • The main lounge, living room and dining space in each cottage will provide a number of smaller quiet areas for people to relax with family and friends.
  • A smaller reading area is available in each cottage for when you are looking for those quieter times
  • landscaped to complement the Fassifern area.
