Our annual Centrifuge is happening again on Tuesday 17 July.

Churches of Christ was founded around a dream for unity. A dream to follow Jesus’ example and to work together with all Christians to love, serve and give of ourselves for the sake of others. At Centrifuge 2018 on 17 July, we will be celebrating our diversity and remembering that we are ONE community.

ONE story, ONE moment and ONE mission.

One of the driving ideas behind the birth of Churches of Christ movement was a desire to unify people around a “simple, uncluttered Christianity”. Against a fiercely divided and fractured group of churches and denominations, our founders stumbled on Jesus last prayer in John 17, “That the disciples may be ONE, just as they were ONE”. Jesus had suggested that unity was critical because the world would form its view of God, based on what it saw being played out amongst God’s people on earth.

Today, on the other side of the world, Churches of Christ in Queensland are committed to striving to be ONE. To work in unison with a vast array of different but like-minded people in living a “simple, uncluttered Christianity”, or as we now say, “bringing the light of Christ into communities”.

At Centrifuge, we will celebrate the unity that we strive for, in spite of the obvious challenges of our diversity.  We have thousands of people across Queensland, Victoria and Vanuatu, all making a unique contribution to forwarding our mission.

As a valued member of the Churches of Christ in Queensland family, we would love you to join us.

We encourage you to invite other members of your church, service or workplace to join us as we celebrate our ONE story, ONE moment, ONE mission.
